The Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed, says the appointment of Mr Abdulrasheed Bawa as the Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission by President Muhammadu Buhari is well deserved.
Professor Mohammed stated this when he paid a congratulatory visit to the anti-graft boss at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday.
He expressed delight over the achievements and track record of Mr Bawa, so far as the Chairman of the Commission, and prayed for God's guidance and protection in the discharge of his mandate for a corruption-free Nigeria.
The Vice-Chancellor used the opportunity to advocate for the establishment of an Anti-Corruption Club in the University to help sensitise students on the ills of corruption and how to tackle the menace.
He also requested for a collaboration between the two institutions in the areas of joint workshops, exchange of staff, development of curriculum in Law, Sociology, Psychology and Cybersecurity for the EFCC training Academy.
In his response, the EFCC Chairman, Mr Bawa, thanked the Vice-Chancellor and his entourage for the visit, assuring that the commission will look at the request of the University with the aim of signing a Memorandum of Understanding to facilitate implementation for the benefit of the two institutions.
Highlights of the occasion were the exchange of souvenirs and the decoration of the Vice-Chancellor as an EFCC Ambassador by Mr Abdulrasheed Bawa.
