The Polish Government, through her Ambassador to Nigeria, Her Excellency Joanna Tarnawska, has restated the country's willingness to deepen existing ties with the Nasarawa State University, Keffi.
The Ambassador was a guest of the University on Wednesday, where she delivered a lecture titled: "Linkages, International Cooperation, Diplomatic Protocols, and Ethics: A Key to Internationalization of Academic Institutions in Nigeria" at the University's Senate Chamber.
She emphasised the need for academics to take advantage of Poland's enormous opportunities in terms of quality scholarship and research.
The Ambassador also spoke on the Embassy's efforts to ensure the take-off of the Institute of European studies in NSUK - the first in Africa, while paying special tributes to the former Nigerian Ambassador to Poland, His Excellency Dr Samuel Jimba and the Director of Linkages and International Cooperation of the University, Dr K'tso Ngharbu, for the roles they have been playing in sustaining the longstanding relationship between the two countries.
In his welcome remarks, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed, appreciated the ambassador for the collaboration and support the University has enjoyed with the Republic of Poland, particularly the three critical MOU's with strategic Universities during their recent visit to the country.
The Ambassador was accompanied on the visit by the Deputy Head of Mission, Mrs Joana Poplawska-Lilumbi.
