The Nasarawa State University, Keffi, and the Federal Capital Territory Secondary Education Board (FCT-SEB) have agreed to collaborate and work out modalities on the training of staff of the Board.
This formed the basis of discussion when the Director/ Secretary of the FCT-SEB, Mrs. Nanre Emeje, paid a working visit to the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed on Friday.
Mrs. Emeje said the choice of Nasarawa State University as the first point of call for training of her staff was because of the pedigree and the ranking of the institution over the years.
In his response, Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed congratulated Mrs. Emeje on the excellent work the commission is doing.
He commended the Board's supervision and establishment of standards in schools in the FCT, which has made public schools compete with their private counterparts.
Professor Suleiman assured the visiting Director of the University's readiness to collaborate with the board in issuing admissions to the qualified staff of the board and organizing short training programs.
To match words with action, the Vice-Chancellor constituted a four-man committee headed by the DVC Academics to interface and work out modalities for the smooth running of the partnership with the board.
Other members are the Dean, Faculty of Education, Director, Institute of Education, and the Director, Linkages and International Cooperation.
